I am pleased to share with you that Gemma Services has accepted an offer from The Haverford School’s Board of Trustees to purchase Gemma’s property on South Roberts Road in Radnor Township. While we hope and expect the sale to go through, we do not anticipate the transaction to be complete until late spring as due diligence work is expected. It is our understanding that the School has no predetermined use in mind for the property.
The Rosemont property was previously owned by theVillage before the merger in 2019 of theVillage and Silver Springs – Martin Luther School to form Gemma Services. As you know, both legacy organizations were founded in the 1800s as orphanages in Philadelphia and evolved over the years to meet the growing needs of our local communities. Today, as a unified organization, Gemma’s programs assist more than 3,000 youth and families each year.
We are delighted that the property will be used to continue our legacy of providing educational opportunities to youth. The Haverford School is a private day school for boys in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade located on Philadelphia’s Main Line. More information about the School is available at www.haverford.org.
