Every child deserves the nurturing, safety, and security associated with residing in a stable home environment. At Gemma, we work with families, county agencies, educators, and others involved in a child’s or teen’s life to identify the best possible home to fit the unique needs of each individual through our specialized Treatment Foster Care and Host Home Programs.

treatment foster care

We provide Treatment Foster Care services for children from Bucks, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery, Northern Chester, and Philadelphia Counties who cannot reside in their own homes. Foster families provide compassionate care in a loving home environment to address the needs of children with emotional and behavioral challenges to help them heal and flourish. From financial assistance and ongoing training to professional guidance, we work closely with our foster families to ensure that they have the skills and supports that they need to help each child we serve to thrive.

host home program

The Gemma Services Host Home Program was developed to provide treatment and a safe and supportive home environment for youth ages 4 through 18 who are dealing with serious emotional and behavioral issues. Eligible children and teens are placed in family homes with specially-trained host parents who use individualized plans to meet each child’s needs, with the goal of alleviating the pain, distress, and disruption in their lives while building resiliency and stability. Children and their legal families work with our team of psychiatrists, caseworkers, and therapists who utilize a trauma-informed approach to best address emotional and behavioral needs.

adoption services

Gemma Services provides Adoption & Permanency Services for children and adolescents who have experienced loss, separation, abuse, neglect, and other trauma. These children have been placed in the homes of foster or kinship families because their legal families currently are unable to provide the care they need. Services support children achieving permanency through outcomes including Reunification with their families, Adoption or Permanency Legal Custodianship (PLC) with their foster or kinship caregivers.

Services are county-referred and overseen by the Pennsylvania Statewide Adoption Network (SWAN). Services provided include Child Profile, Family Profile, Child-Specific Recruitment, Child Preparation, Adoption Finalization, and Post-Permanency Support. Experienced Adoption & Permanency workers support children and caregivers as we promote stability and permanency, firmly grounded in the principle that every child is deserving of a “forever family.”
