Dear MLS Families,

Is it possible that winter break is upon us? With the fourth month of school coming to an end, our students have accomplished so much. They are reading and writing, working on challenging math and science problems, and learning about the world in Social Studies. Music, Art, WORC, and Physical Education continue to be favorite specials for our students. And then there is Panther Time, a beloved passion period with student-centered choices at the end of each day. There are so many amazing things happening in our school. And yet, we continue to face the daily challenges of COVID and feel as disheartened as you do when we have to ask students to stay home and learn virtually. My hope and prayer for 2022 is to put COVID behind us to fully live into each student’s potential without interruption. I wish each of you a happy and healthy New Year and look forward to partnering with you as we joyfully watch your students grow.
