Dear MLS Families and Educational Partners,
Martin Luther School will continue with virtual learning and return to in-person programming on February 1, 2022. Safety is always our priority at Martin Luther School. With the contagiousness of the Omicron variant, we believe that our students need the consistency that our virtual environment provides. Please know that we did not make this decision lightly and recognize that virtual learning directly impacts our students’ families and caregivers.
To minimize disruptions upon return, we will follow the newest guidelines provided by the CDC and the Montgomery County Department of Health. Our organization required vaccination for staff in December 2021, and we highly recommend vaccination for our students. Vaccinated students and staff exposed to COVID will be allowed to attend school if they are asymptomatic under most circumstances. Our school nurses will be reaching out to you to inquire about your students’ vaccination status beginning next week, or you can email the vaccination card to [email protected].
Our students are learning amazing things both virtually and in-person. We sincerely believe that academic achievement will significantly impact our students’ futures and we will continue to hold high expectations and provide substantial support for everyone. Each moment in school is an opportunity to learn something new, perfect a skill, or practice for the future. Please be sure that your student attends school every day over the next two weeks.
Our deepest hope is that this time of COVID will come to an end soon. Especially during this time, we are here to support our students and families. Please reach out to your classroom team or to our administrative team with the support you need to make the next two weeks successful for your student(s).
